As well as reguarly enjoying our own very lovely Lido, John Worgan is a well-travelled Lido enthusiast, seeking out open-air pools wherever he can. Over the last couple of years John has kept a Lido diary noting his personal observations and experiences of how the pools vary and what they each offer. In the spirit of all good guides, John has star-rated the pools he’s visited and here shares his personal reflections. There is a lot of useful information in John’s diary, which can be downloaded by clicking the link below.
John Worgan’s Lido Diary
Over the last two summers, I have travelled around the country for work reasons and I have tried to find lidos wherever I have stayed. My star ratings are inevitably personal – I value highly good facilities for ‘serious’ swimmers (e.g. lanes), helpful and pleasant staff, water quality and a pleasant environment.
