Chanel6 mums successfully made it across the Channel last night. In their own words,
“Hurrah! We’ve swum the channel!!! After the stressful week of waiting for the right window, and a false start, we finally set off on Friday at 5.50am. We had great weather and mainly calm seas, and most importantly wonderful team spirit. After 15 hours and 45 minutes we felt the French sand between our toes (it was dark, so couldn’t see much!). That may sound a long time, but we were thrilled, as we are a group of 40+ Mums, with 14 children between us, and jobs too! None of us are club swimmers. This was a personal challenge for all of us, and we’ve achieved it”.
Brilliant, very well done!! We’ll all look forward to giving you all pats on the back down at the Lido when you come and do your victory laps….
